Since graduating from the University of Florida College of Law in 1990, Mr. Lunsford has focused his career on helping individuals and their companies manage their legal affairs and business operations in both private practice and as in-house counsel. With significant experience in the areas of corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, international business, real estate, employment, intellectual property, entertainment, healthcare, education and business litigation, Mr. Lunsford brings a wide array of skills to the Firm.

Prior to joining the Firm in February 2013, Mr. Lunsford served as Senior Vice-President and General Counsel at Digital Domain Media Group, a NYSE-listed entertainment company, where he worked closely with top management to complete private equity and debt transactions in the US, Europe, UAE and Asia, and then to take the company public. While at DDMG Mr. Lunsford also helped the company start a college in West Palm Beach, FL, with Florida State University, build a feature film animation studio in Port St. Lucie, FL, acquire a technology patent portfolio, develop a patent monetization strategy, manage patent infringement litigation, negotiate joint ventures in the UAE and China, and develop the company’s military simulation and 3D conversion business lines.

Prior to joining DDMG in 2010 Mr. Lunsford spent 10 years in the healthcare industry, serving first as the chief in-house legal counsel and a member of the executive team that managed the 6,000 employee $1.5B revenue Eastern U.S. Division of Gambro Healthcare, a fully-integrated global healthcare provider, and then as Group General Counsel and a member of the executive team for a 6,000 employee, $1B revenue operating group of DaVita Inc., a US Fortune 500 public healthcare company based in Denver, Colorado. During his 10 years with Gambro and DaVita Mr. Lunsford served in a leadership position helping to build the legal departments and manage the companies’ acquisitions, contracting, litigation, real estate, employment, laboratory, government affairs and healthcare regulatory matters. Mr. Lunsford was also an integral member of the team that managed DaVita¹s $3B acquisition and integration of Gambro in 2004/5.

Prior to his work in the healthcare space Mr. Lunsford worked in private practice for 10 years as an associate and then partner at the West Palm Beach, FL law firm of Boose Casey Ciklin Lubitz Martens McBane & O’Connell, where he focused his practice on commercial litigation and transactions.

With his extensive and wide-ranging experience serving businesses and individuals in both private practice and as in-house counsel, Mr. Lunsford essentially has been both the lawyer and the client for many years, allowing him to develop a unique and valuable perspective in his practice that results in very efficient and effective counsel for the Firm’s clients.
